MovieDisco is a free movie recommendation tool built on top of Letterboxd. It solves a problem every film lover knows: you and your friends all have different taste, and picking a movie everyone will enjoy feels impossible.
Enter your Letterboxd username and MovieDisco reads your ratings and watch history to recommend films you haven't seen yet. Add friends and it scores every film for each person, then ranks highest the films that score well for everyone, not just the ones one person loves. Read more about how the Letterboxd recommender works.
I built MovieDisco because my friends and I kept spending more time arguing about what to watch than actually watching movies. Existing recommendation tools are designed for individuals — I wanted something that takes the whole group into account.
MovieDisco started as a weekend project and grew into a full web app and iOS app used by thousands of film lovers around the world.
MovieDisco only reads publicly available data from your Letterboxd profile. We don't require you to create an account, we don't store your data permanently, and we never sell information to third parties. Read our full privacy policy for details.
